#7 with Ayatgali Tuleubek

In the 7th edition of Studio17’s reading group, the Conversation Pit, we will be discussing the definition of a “confidential project” outlined in The Institutionalization of Friendship by Russian contemporary art theorist and curator Viktor Misiano.

Using an example of a community of artists from Moscow and Ljubljana, Misiano is writing about politics of friendship and examining characteristics of artistic projects created with and for friends.

Together with Ignas Krunglevicius and Ragnhild Aamås, Ayatgali Tuleubek is managing the artist-run space Podium in Oslo. Since its establishment in 2004, Podium has offered a rich and regular program consisting of exhibitions, round tables, talks, concerts, gathering, and other events. The current working model of the space is based on long-term interactions with artists, cultural producers, and thinkers. It aims to produce spearheading contexts and critical statements on variety of contemporary issues.
