Miina Laine & Hans-Peter Schütt

Studio17 Residency is delighted to welcome artists Miina Laine and Hans-Peter Schütt from Finland to Stavanger!

Miina Laine, MoA, works in various disciplines of fine art, but returns to painting and graphic art, especially monoprinting, periodically. For the last 10 years her art has had a focus on the experience of nature through spatial and rhythmic observations. Hans-Peter Schütt, MoA, works multi disciplinary with gallery-oriented works as well as with street art and environmental art. His art is focused on environmental relationships and surplus. They have worked together on various exhibitions, with environmental and street art projects, public art and teaching since 2018.

At the residency we work with a project called Walking Narrative which has been ongoing since 2018. It is carried out by walking and wandering and during or as a result of it, works of art are created. Art emerges from combinations of walking and exploring / observing the environment and different possibilities offered by chance. During the residency we work in public space as well as produce a gallery exhibition.
