Blåbærkunst

21.08. – 24.08.2014

Karina Kazlauskaite (b. 1980 Lithuania) is based in Stavanger, where she has lived and worked since 4 years. Her main media is art jewellery and installation. Through her work she explores different materials and objects, for instance eggs and pig bladder combined with precious metals and stones.

Blåbærkunst is a long-term project born in 2011 during the artist’s working experience at a nursing home in Stavanger. It began by observing a patient’s carefully decorated window and is a landscape of drawings, images, objects, jewellery and a letter from the patient to the artist. In the letter, the patient explains the stories of his objects and reasons for the stories.

Take-away cards, called Tre-I-Eit-Tre, play with 20 such drawing series and are created for the visitors to take a story home. A third of the letter is hidden in each of the cards. Come and find all three!
