When you have a destination in mind

Hedvig Thorkildsen (born 1982) lives and works in Bergen. She has a bachelor’s degree (2010) and a master’s degree (2013) from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Combinations of different materials and different mediums, such as video and photography, are often starting points for her work.

In the series When you have a destination in mind, her point of departure is the variety of colours in landscapes. Certain photographic elements are taken out of context and transformed through silk print. Repetition and variation create movement and rhythm. In this way, both process and theme revolve around a state of change and movement.
