Kristen Keegan
Colour gap
Kristen Keegan is an artist from Edmonton, Canada currently living in Bergen, Norway. Her work focuses on the process and temporal parameters unique to image-making though painting. With colour gap, she continues to employ the flattening effects of dye on textile. Her interest is in the specific moment of pause or latency between decision-making. This is a moment desired, anticipated and remembered all at once.
She recently graduated from the MA programme at the Bergen Academy of Art, Faculty for Kunst, Musikk og Design (KMD). Her work was exhibited this spring at Hordaland Kunstsenter with the solo exhibition The urgent, slow gaze, and in 2018 at c3 in Melbourne, Australia. She also participated in the nationwide Norwegian survey of art at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, Høstutstillingen 2018. Kristen has received support for her projects in Norway through Bergen Kommune, Kulturrådet, and BKH.
