Highway

Studio17 er stolte av å presentere Katarina Lundberg sin utstilling «Highway», en serie skultpurer som består av bildeler funnet på gaten.

Kunstneren skriver:

The wind is always stronger around the highway and I sing while biking home. Above E4 south direction, yellow stains are quietly floating in the night. A roar rises behind the planking. The scraping sound from containers on the way somewhere fades away as the rear lights disappear.

Nearby, truck parts end their last shift on the streets of Västberga – an industrial area in Stockholm where several transportation firms are located. The pieces have been separated from the vehicle through a crash of some kind or maybe through a more silent discardment. Once again moved from one city to another, they are now on display in Stavanger.

Katarina Lundberg (f. 1986) bor og arbeider i Stockholm. Arbeidet hennes tar ofte utgangspunkt i industrielle steder, materialer og objekter, som hun arbeider med gjennom installasjon, maleri og skulptur. Lundberg ble nylig uteksaminert med en Bachelorgrad i Kunst fra Konstsfack, Stockholm (2017) og har siden da deltatt i flere utstillinger i Oslo, Stockholm og Berlin.
