I Transitt

The last exhibition of 2022 at Studio17 is this year’s collaborative exhibition with the Art School in Stavanger. We proudly present the exhibition «I Transitt» by Kristine Handegård Viste!

About
Transit stems from the Italian word transito, which in turn comes from the Latin word transitus, which means ‘transition’, derived by the verb transire (‘walk, leave, travel through, passing’).

Kristine Handegård Viste is currently in her first year of a BA in visual arts at KMD in Bergen. She graduated from the Art School in Stavanger earlier this year, where her interest in photography started. She often uses a combination of analogue photography and writing as a tool to explore the different phases of life.

Studio17 is continuing the successful collaboration between the Stavanger School of Art, where one of the students graduating from the school is invited to have a solo exhibition at Studio17 during the upcoming autumn. In 2021 Jenny Marie Nybrott had her first solo exhibition at Studio17 in the framework of this collaborative project. The selection was then, as it is now, made based on the artistic quality of the work presented at the graduation exhibition of Stavanger School of Art.

This year Vibece Salthe, Curator at Stavanger Art Museum (https://stavangerkunstmuseum.no/) chose Kristine Handegård Viste from this years graduation exhibition «Smørblomster og blåveis».
