Studio17 proudly presents the exhibition Ser du det eg ser? by Jenny Marie Nybrott!
In the artists own words:
Inspiration often comes to me through little everyday moments that I wish to bring attention to. I seek the beautiful, poetic moments in life, but also the realistic and unpolished ones. Those have a poetry of their own. Those are the moments that really make me stop to think and wonder, much like a child does. I hang on to my inner child by exploring memories, rituals, and materials from my own childhood.
Studio17 is continuing the successful collaboration between the Stavanger School of Art, where one of the students graduating from the school is invited to have a solo exhibition at Studio17 during the upcoming autumn. In 2020 Benedikte Bergevik had her first solo exhibition at Studio17 in the framework of this collaborative project. The selection was then, as it is now, made based on the artistic quality of the work presented at the graduation exhibition of Stavanger School of Art. This year Astrid Helen Windingstad, Art Historian and editor of Contemporary Art Stavanger (www.contemporaryartstavanger.no), chose Jenny Marie Nybrott from the graduating exhibition NON STOP.
Stavanger School of Art is a 2 year higher vocational school that provides education in visual arts. For more info, please visit: www.kunstskolen.no
