Studio17 – 10 years and a new beginning

This year marks both an anniversary and a transformation at Studio17, and we can hardly wait to share our exciting plans for the future with all of you! A decade of passion for art and creativity has brought us to this point, and now it’s time to celebrate our unique journey and welcome a new future.

Since our first exhibitions in 2013, Studio17 has been a home for diverse art and expression. Everything from vibrant painting exhibitions to experimental multimedia installations and exciting workshops has taken place in our little space in the corner of the Jugend building at Nytorget over the past ten years, and our exhibitors and visitors have shared their passion and curiosity with us. Now it’s time to raise a glass to ten fantastic years of creativity and exploration.

As part of our anniversary, we will spend the autumn celebrating what we have achieved together. We will take a journey through Studio17’s history, with events honoring the amazing artists and creators who have contributed to our realization.

In the wake of our anniversary, we are now embarking on a new chapter in our history. In connection with the renovation of the Jugend building at Nytorget, Studio17 will move to the old part of Stavanger during the fall. This provides us with a unique opportunity to expand our horizons and explore new creative possibilities.

Autumn 2023 marks not only an ending but also a beginning. We are confident that our temporary home in Old Stavanger will be a source of inspiration for artists and art enthusiasts everywhere. We are excited to start this new chapter together with all of you and look forward to seeing how Studio17 will evolve and flourish in this new location.

Soon we will announce a brand new Open Call for spring 2024 with a new and exciting exhibition format in our new premises. This is an opportunity for artists, both established and new, to explore boundaries and create art that will leave its mark on Studio17’s future chapters.
