Snøfrid Eiene

Abandoned house

07.05. – 21.05.2020

To keep Studio17 active during this Corona time, we are hosting a series of exhibitions in the gallery window. The first one up is Abandoned house by Snøfrid Eiene. Welcome!

In the window of Studio17, Snøfrid Eiene presents the work Abandoned house. The piece is from a series of drawings on paper of abandoned houses and windows. These studies have been captured during a walk through the hometown of Kvinesdal. The drawing presented in Studio17 depicts a window where the lace curtains are completely drawn. Through a slit at the bottom of the window one can look into the interior inside. Without sentimentality or nostalgia, the artist gives us a portrait of time; the window of the house reflects the landscape outside as if time were frozen.

Please note that there will be no official opening for this exhibition. The exhibition, on the other hand, will be open to the public permanently throughout the exhibition period.
